History
Align with the decisions adopted by standards Institute and making the,51-vehicle-standards compulsory to apply, on Nov.2003,technical inspection qualification permit for vehicle types was awarded to Iranian Engineering Inspection Company.
The company officially started as the executive member of the Institute in March 2004
Scope of Activities
A. Approval of the Types of domestic vehicles(TA)
Following the 51-vehicle-standards being compulsory to apply ordered by standards Institute aiming at supervising the quality of the imported vehicles, the plan was welcomed by the importers and so far many imported vehicles have been assessed by IEI company Type Approval group.

Of the vehicles, the following can be mentioned:
1-Toyota car manufacturing factory-Prado, Hiace, Hilux, Camry, Corola, Land Cruiser, Echo, Yaris
2-CHERY Car manufacturing company-CHERY B11,CHERY A11
3- Volvo FH12
4-Scania R420
5-Rover 25,45,75


Required Documents:

a. Attomotive Type Approval of the imported vehicles
b. Attomotive Type Approval of the type domestic vehicles
1-Attestation certificates and test reports regarding 51-compulsory standards (EEC Directive)
2-Technical information documents

B.Attestation of the domestic vehicles
The Iranian Engineering Inspection Company Started its vast activities as of March, 2004 as one of the organs for quality elevation on the conformity of domestic vehicles with National standardas.
This activity was widly welcomed by such domestic car manufacturers as Pars Khodro-Maxima, Ronize, Seranza ,Pick-up,PK-Iran Khodro- Peugout 206,405, Pars Peugout, Samand, RD Peugout, Peykan-Saipa-Xantia,Pride,Rio,Caravan-and other manufactuers such as Kerman khodro, Ardestan car manufacturing company and Amico.

C. Investigation of conformity of production for domestic vehicles(COP)
COP aims at assuring the continuous conformity of manufactured vehicles with the attested type.This is done in two steps:
1-Initial assessment
Initial assessment aims at assuring the presence and implication of executive methods to effectively control the conformity of the vehicles with the attested type.
2-Monitoring assessment
Monitoring assessment is based on sampling to make sure of the efficiency of the executive methods.

D. Attestation of types of domestic vehicles according to their CO2 release and giving fule consumption lable in order to control vehicle pollutants and due to the pollution problem in big cities and align with realization of environmental ambition, related tests are performed based on National standards on fuel consumption in test centers,and reports are given on urban and non-urban cycles of fuel consumption based on the existing relations to give fuel consumption label to manufacturers.The tests are done with cooperation of Iranian standard an Industrial Research organization, and fuel consumption optimization organization. In this regard, Iran Khodro and SAIPA companies are among the manufacturers who welcomed this national plan.


E. Inspection of Domestic vehicles
Since importing vehicles has authorized, Iranian Engineering Inspection company has started inspecting imported vehicles in the customs of the country, to prevent the imports of scarp or non-standard vehicles. Certificate of attestation will be issued for the standards office following the control of the standards.
Documents required for the obtaining of standard conformity certificate:
1-Warehouse receipt
2-Proforma invoice
3-Certificate of origin
4-Order registration certificate
5-Bill of lading
6-Letter issued by the police
7-Customs declaration statement
Regarding the inspection of imported vehicles, inspection is done in day following the submission of documents by the importer, and then a report will be delivered to the employer in order to be submitted to director of vehicles type attestation group:movafaghi@ieico.com
